Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

The author

Prolific young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the firm said: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was made after an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable directed at female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago for his services to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
