President Trump Invites Families of Shot Guard Personnel to White House

Former President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the family of a Guard member killed last week to visit the White House.

He added that he contacted her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Background on the Heartbreaking Shooting

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have taken place in their memory.

Presidential Offer

The commander-in-chief said he’s proposed a White House visit for the families of both members of the state Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president informed journalists. “And in the same way with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Support

Community members came together over the past few days at a local school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of the president’s federal initiative to assist public safety in DC.

Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the individual that educators desired. She carried herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a positive energy that lifted those around her,” Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the media. “She was kind, considerate and always eager to assist people.”

Service plans for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Judicial Measures and Policy Changes

Law enforcement have charged a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of homicide and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The incident led the Trump administration to halt refugee claims and temporarily stop issuing entry permits to holders of travel documents.

Status of the Airman

The airman, a native of the city, enlisted in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, per the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey stated on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she planned to speak to his relatives.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from her high school in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a MP with distinction, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had bravery,” Morrisey informed the crowd at the memorial. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
