Tottenham Manager Frank Labels Vicario Critics 'Not True Genuine Supporters'

Fulham Start Strong to Beat Spurs and Increase Tension on Frank

Spurs supporters who booed keeper Vicario were told afterwards "those individuals can't be true Spurs supporters" by boss Frank.

Tottenham let in a pair of scores in the first initial moments to fall 2-1 to their opponents, marking their 10th top-flight home loss of 2025.

However the primary topic of discussion was Fulham's next goal when the keeper lost possession well outside his area.

The goalkeeper came out to handle a long ball and carried the ball towards the touchline.

But, rather than booting it out of play, the Italian turned and tried to clear away, but slipped as the ball glanced off Wilson and was collected by King.

The forward passed the ball off to Wales midfield player Harry Wilson, who bent a strike into the net from the touchline measured at 36.6 metres.

Seconds afterwards when the ball came to the keeper once more, a number of Tottenham fans jeered him.

Spurs were jeered off at the interval, with the club 2-0 behind, and once more at the final whistle.

A particular of those booing sessions truly angered Frank.

"I heard a few of our fans reportedly booed the situation and booed following, which, in my view is totally unjustifiable," the Dane stated about the fans' response to his shot-stopper.

"Those individuals can't be true Tottenham fans that do that. Alright booing following the game, no problem, but when we are playing, we are backing each other, we are behind each other moving ahead."

Tete had handed the visitors a early lead before Harry Wilson's goal – with Kudus scoring for Tottenham in an improved second period showing.

Ex- top-flight goalkeeper Joe Hart stated that the next score was "totally preventable".

"I do appreciate the supporters' frustration," the ex-keeper continued. "I know the part the keeper is performing. He is a excellent team player, he's a true leader in the locker room but in the end you are going to be assessed by your decisions.

"The keeper was heavily implicated in what ended up to be the decisive goal."

'It's In the Game, I Can Handle It'

Frank Defended His Keeper Vicario Following the Match

Italian national team Vicario is in his 3rd season with Spurs.

He said after the game that he had to take the feedback.

"The second score was a error of mine, I take accountability for that," he commented.

"My aim was to kick the ball far and I simply hit the ball in a bad way. It was an more difficult challenge to climb."

He stated receiving jeers "is part of football".

"I am mature, what can I say?" he added. "We can't be affected by the circumstances in the stands. The fans have the entitlement to do as they see fit.

"It's on the team to stay increasingly calm, to focus on our own performance. The team is lacking in composure and calmness to overturn outcomes. Today is a bad defeat and it is tough to take."

'It Shocked Me Nobody Returned to the Goal Line'

Despite Vicario's mistake, it was far from an easy score for Harry Wilson to score.

Actually it was the second longest-range top division score of the season – following Tyler Adams' 43.3 metre strike for Bournemouth against the Black Cats, which interestingly also occurred on Saturday.

The goalscorer stated he was "a little bit taken aback" that he still had an open goal to target.

Ten moments elapsed between Vicario coming out of his area and the midfielder shooting – which was 5 moments after the clearance.

"I felt like the goalkeeper was away from the area for ages," he remarked.

"It amazed me not one of the back four went back to the goal line. When none of them covered the net, my eyes sparked somewhat.

"[Destiny] Udogie slipped as well, which allowed me a little additional opportunity. After that it was solely about trying to achieve the right contact and place it towards goal. I felt a good sense, as soon as it came off my boot, that it was heading in."

'During in a Poor Run, All Seems to Work Against You'

Jeering Whilst We Are Still in Play Is Completely Unjustifiable - the Manager

While Vicario's mistake dominated coverage, this was an overall poor performance for Spurs to continue their home struggles.

The match was their 10th home loss of 2025 in the league, a shared club statistic matching 1994 and 2003.

The side still have home games against the manager's former club Brentford and title holders Liverpool to play prior to the close of the year.

Only one of those wins have occurred since the manager replaced his predecessor in the off-season.

"If you are down 2-0 after the opening, there is a huge challenge to climb," said the boss.

"During in a bad spell, everything seems to work against you as well – the opening was a redirected shot, the next is a mistake from the keeper.

"This result leaves us in a place where we have suffered another match. Every game has a single story, this game we lost in the early stages.

"We simply need to keep working. The second half was significantly improved and hopefully an aspect we can use to develop."

Tottenham have lost four consecutive at home London derbies for the first time in the Premier League.

And they are recording 9.5 attempts and 3.2 shots on target per match in the Premier League – their lowest averages on file in a one season (dating back to the 2003-04 season).

Former Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy commented that Frank has to ride the storm.

"He must take the stick," Murphy said. "He's accepted a prestigious job at a major football club with enormous anticipation. There is scrutiny and duty that comes with that.

"Their showings at home have been disappointing and they have to improve {quickly|
