Two Individuals Accused In Connection With Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Assault
Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.
The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A young child was among those injured during the incident. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.
This event – described by police as was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – led to train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
